A Grandchildrens Portrait Collection | An Early Christmas Gift

Oh I have been SO excited to share this special family collection with you all!  I consider myself pretty good at keeping a secret but it’s been almost two months and really difficult to not spoil this surprise!

Christmas came early for this family!  When my dear friend contacted me to set up a session as a special Christmas present for her parents, I was so honored to share in this meaningful gift.  She and her sister wanted to capture their children (the grandchildren) to give their parents framed portraits. If only you could hear my excitement on the other end…insert tears…because it means so much to me that families have portraits of their loved one that make them smile, remember and feel at peace with the one thing that matters most…family.   And on top of that, the fact that it was going to be a gift for these grandparents, a gift of appreciation and thanks for everything they do for their individual families.  Stop. Right. Now.

I seriously can’t think of anyone more deserving of this special gift than these two incredible, beautiful people.  I've been so fortunate and blessed knowing and seeing their family grow through the years from one grandchild to now four!  I have been there through all the ups and downs and can honestly say they are the constant strength and foundation of support for their daughters, their son in-laws and their four gorgeous grandchildren.  These grandparents are the true definition of what family is all about.  For me, they define so much of WHY I love what I do.  They are happiest when they are surrounded by their family, tons of delicious homemade food and nothing but pure love from their grandchildren.

Yesterday, as they were all gathered for Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas came early for these two selfless and amazing grandparents!  Together as a family, they opened up this Christmas gift that their daughters each choose from the collection.  All week I had been so excited for them to receive this gift and when my girlfriend called me yesterday to tell me all about the experience, she went on to say how much her parents LOVED the gift and couldn't hold back their tears of joy.

Words really can’t describe the feeling I get inside knowing I was part of giving this special family portrait to them.  It will hang on their walls for them to enjoy, admire, stare at and be proud of the family they have built.  They do so much for their family and grandchildren.  To me, they represent everything beautiful about family.  They are two of the most generous, kind, caring individuals and I am thrilled to have played a part in their happiness this Holiday season!

FINALLY…here are a few of my favorites from our special day!
