Last weekend was a special afternoon shared with this
beautiful family. I had the honor of photographing them around
this time last year when their daughter was just born and now this little princess is almost
turning one!
For me personally, their session last year was my AHA moment. The moment when I realized I had to dig deep
and finally follow my heart and passion.
Ever since I was young, I've been fascinated with the stories behind
family photographs. I would spend hours
digging through my parents old photo albums trying to understand my family
history. It’s what has lead me to
becoming seriously obsessed with capturing every. single. moment of every special
occasion or casual get-together that I've been a part of...just ask my friends and family!
It was my session with this loving family last year that made my
heart wake up and feel alive. I realized
that there was nothing that truly made me happier and nothing that really made my insides
light on fire more than documenting timeless memories for families to look back on
and cherish forever. Creating photographs
that will be passed down from generation to generation. Photographs for children to someday dig
through so they too would understand their family history. Photographs for a mother to stare at and feel
the pure pride and joy as she looks into her son and daughters eyes. It all gets me SO giddy to know that I can create
images for a mother and father to run their fingers over and feel the emotion
in that very moment, from that one, single, image.
I am so excited to continue this yearly tradition with this
special family, because for me, this new Holiday tradition is one I cherish with
all my heart.
